Then it got dropped and the clamp at the front was broken off. It still worked but I had to either hold it or find something to set on top to close it tightly. I quickly grew tired of doing that and ended up getting another one.Now I use the first to heat my tortillas as it works great for this.Since it is exactly the same I expect to get years of use from it as I did it's predecessor. Hopefully this one won't be dropped in a few years. May get one as a back up just in case. Amazon.com
